LEEDS RECRUITERS RAISE £2500 TREKKING FOR CHARITY
July 2008
Four employees from international search and selection consultancy Ellis Fairbank and EM Group braved the unpredictable Scottish weather to complete the RBS Caledonian Challenge to raise £2500 for the Scottish Community Foundation.
The ‘Super Sonics’, made up of Matt Jones, David Howell, Dan Whitley and former employee Rob Chapman, all completed the gruelling 54 mile walk within the 24 hour allowed time. The route saw the team scale the terrain around Glen Nevis which sits in the shadows of Ben Nevis, continuing the course through Glen Coe via the ‘Devil’s Staircase’.
Once completing the descent, the walkers took in the tranquil views of Loch Lomond and finished the challenge at Ardleish, before being whisked over the calm waters to cross the finish line at Ardlui.
Rose Megson, Ellis Fairbank’s support team leader for the challenge, comments: “Everyone involved worked exceptionally hard to ensure the challenge was completed and enjoyed. The money raised goes to such a wide range of people and causes. The Caledonian Challenge is one of the most physically and mentally challenging endurance tests and the team should be very pleased to say they’ve completed it.”
